Burn's Night 

Despite some mis-givings and not really a Burn's Night fan I did nevertheless venture out to attend the Burn's Night event at the Burtle Village Hall on Friday, Jan 21st. What an excellent evening.  Formal evening attire was the dress code and everyone looked very smart in DJ's and evening dress.  The food was sumptious with Heather Lee as usual doing us all proud with both traditional Haggis and non-traditional Faggots or vegetarian haggis on offer.  The band, The Shirley Pipers from Birmingham were spectacular and no-one could resist clapping and tapping as they piped the Haggis in and later entertained us with traditional pipe and drum music.

Hats off to Tony, Avril, Heather, Lisa and the rest of the helpers for a spectacular event, those that did not attend missed a real treat, and that's from someone who normally dislikes Burn's Night!!
