Community News
  A warning - regarding calling cards left at your home or work indicating there is a parcel to be collected from a carrier. The card asks the recipient to call a number regarding the package. Many such carriers are genuine but please be warned some are not. If the contact numbers start 09 or 091 and have 11 digits these are premium lines and you will pay a lot of money for the call. Please treat incidents with as much scepticism as you would unsolicited callers at the door, phone or text messages.

Your local Trading Standards office (01823-275573) would be interested in details of such incidents.

With the Festive Season shortly upon us please remember to take extra care at this time of year. When shopping please try not to leave any purchases or personal items on display in vehicles as there does tend to be an increase in the number of thefts from motor vehicles at this time of year. Think about security in the home as well and don't leave wrapped presents on display - there is an annual spate of thefts of wrapped presents from under Christmas Trees.
